Your Initial Visit
If you are visiting our Ocala, Florida, for the first time, here's what you need to know about the initial visit. We have a patient-friendly process that ensures your comfort and satisfaction. Here's what to expect:
It can be easy to forget when you scheduled a dental appointment but now we will remind you with an Appointment Reminder via email or text message. And if it's your first visit, we'll be happy to provide driving directions. Just click on the link below to let us know how you'd like to be contacted. We'll do the rest!
Release of Records Consent
Download the release of records consent form.
Before you receive a teeth cleaning or even an exam, you'll meet with our dentist for an initial consultation. This gives you the opportunity to get to know one another, ask questions, and learn more about the various dental services we provide.
New Patient Paperwork
If your initial consultation goes well, our staff will schedule your first official appointment with our dentist. Prior to this appointment, we ask that you complete a few forms. This new patient paperwork gives our dentist a detailed overview of your dental and medical history, as well as basic information, like your name, age, address, and occupation. You can fill these forms out in our office, but we ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes early to allow enough time to complete them. If you'd prefer, you can download this paperwork online and complete the forms at home prior to your appointment:
After reviewing your paperwork and dental health history, our dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, and other oral tissues. This process allows our dentist to look for signs of problems, like tooth decay or gum disease. When your exam is complete, our dentist will follow it up with a thorough teeth cleaning to remove plaque, tartar, and other harmful bacteria.
When your exam and cleaning are finished, our dentist will take x-rays of your teeth and jaw. The process takes just a few minutes, thanks to our digital x-rays, and results in minimal radiation exposure. Our dentist will analyze the images, looking for problems not visible during a physical exam, like abnormal growths, impacted teeth, or bone loss.
At the conclusion of your exam, cleaning, and x-rays, our dentist will discuss the results with you. If our dentist found any abnormalities or areas of concern, you will be informed of them and receive an overview of your treatment options. You'll also receive the total cost breakdown of these treatments so you can make the best decision for both your dental health and your budget.
If you require additional treatments, our friendly staff will assist you in scheduling those appointments for the coming weeks. If, however, our dentist gave you a clean bill of health, we won't need to see you at our Ocala, Florida, office for another six months. We recommend scheduling your next cleaning and exam now, however, so you don't forget to do it later.
